SHORT-RUN PARTS


 

"Line counter" laboratory instruments are built by PROTOGENESIS for biotech firm, QA Life Sciences. The analytical instruments enable researchers to count and record data on microorganism cultures. Exterior panels are CNC machined and fit with interior mechanical components. QA Life Sciences' equipment is used by scientists the world over.

What is a Short-Run Part?
Short-run parts are used to fulfill a low-volume production run.

This Iomega Zip Drive cartridge was machined by PROTOGENESIS from a solid piece of ABS plastic, in order to duplicate the production injected molded part. Tolerances were held to ±0.001". 12 pieces were produced for testing purposes.

"Buoyancy Compensation Valve" scuba diving equipment were produced by PROTOGENESIS for SeaQuest Inc. 10 pieces were manufactured for testing purposes. These valves are made from solid acrylic with internal threading to accommodate multiple valves.
