MODELS

Hydroplane Struts

Scale models were needed to test the design of a new high-speed military attack craft. First, PROTOGENESIS modeled the struts in 3D. Then, toolpaths were developed over the contoured surfaces. Finally, the two-piece models were machined from solid aluminum for testing in a hydrodynamics laboratory.

What is a Model?
A model is usually a non-working prototype which is made to look like the product. Models can be scaled up or down and constructed from materials other than those of the production product.

Talking Clock

Cranford Street, a product design company, invented this talking horoscope alarm clock. Users who program their birth date into the clocks are awakened each morning by "Jennifer Sandstm, Talking Psychictm" reading their personal horoscope. Successful marketing campaigns for this and several related products were launched using models made by PROTOGENESIS.
