This bezel made for Coherent is used in the medical industry. By utilizing a CAD model for the part and the tool, PROTOGENESIS brought this part to production in only 3 weeks.

What is CAD/CAM
CAD - Computer Aided Design.
CAM - Computer Aided Manufacturing.
By creating 3-D models on the computer PROTOGENESIS can then generates NC (Numeric Control) code to run a milling machine. The result is faster and more accurate machine part then one made by hand.

This Cymer cover, used in the electronics industry consists of three different components. Each component was separately modeled on the CAD/Cam system. The tool tolerances could then be held to +/- 0.001"/ This ensured a tight fit between the parts.

This Extended Systems housing, used on networking systems has a curved flowing shape. This complex changing shape is easily obtained by PROTOGENESIS since we are using a sophisticated CAD/CAM system.
